Ginger lime honey ayurveda miture

This Ayurvedic digestive and immune-boosting tonic is traditionally used to help alleviate symptoms of cold, cough, flu, hay fever and digestive discomfort.
It offers a gentle, natural way to support wellness using ingredients easily found in any supermarket.

Fresh ginger, lime and honey work together as a warming, detoxifying and soothing blend that helps reduce mucus, stimulate digestion and restore appetite during illness. Children also tend to enjoy its mild sweetness and comforting flavour.

You can prepare the tonic at home in just a few minutes. It keeps in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Ingredients

  • 1-inch ginger root, grated

  • 3 tablespoons hot water (to extract juice)

  • Juice of 4 limes

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper (optional)

  • ½ cup water

Method

  1. Prepare the ginger

    • Cut, peel and blend the ginger with half a cup of water, or grate it by hand.

    • Strain to extract the ginger juice from the pulp.

  2. Combine the ingredients

    • Mix the ginger juice with the juice of 6 limes, honey, brown sugar and up to 100 ml of water.

    • Store in a glass container in the refrigerator.

For the daily quick mix, simply combine all ingredients after extracting the ginger juice.

How to Take It (Dosage / Posology)

  • This Ayurvedic tonic must be taken after meals only.

  • Always mix the prepared concentrate with hot water before drinking.
