AYURVEDA BAKED PEACHES

Ayurveda Baked Peaches

A Sweet, Warming Treat for Breakfast or Snack

Yummy! Warm baked peaches for breakfast – what a treat!

This delicious Ayurvedic recipe is perfect as a light breakfast, midday snack, or wholesome dessert. Naturally sweet, easy to digest, and satisfying to the senses, it’s suitable for all constitutions (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) — especially in spring and summer.

You can also substitute peaches with other seasonal fruits like apples, pears, nectarines, or plums depending on availability and your dosha.

Ayurvedic Notes

  • Vata: Add a drizzle of ghee for extra nourishment and grounding

  • Pitta: Use lighter fruits like pears or peaches; avoid too much spice

  • Kapha: Enjoy in moderation; skip sweeteners if needed and serve warm

Ayurveda Baked Peaches Recipe

✨ Ingredients

  • 6–8 ripe peaches, halved and pitted

  • 1/4 tsp ground clove

  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (or 1/4 tsp fresh vanilla)

  • 2 tsp muscovado sugar or raw cane sugar (optional)

  • 1 cup water

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 165°C (330°F).

  2. Wash the peaches thoroughly, slice in half, and remove the pits.

  3. In a bowl, mix the spices, sugar, and vanilla with 1 cup of water.

  4. Arrange the peaches cut side up in an oven-safe baking dish or Le Creuset-style pot.

  5. Pour the spiced mixture evenly over the peaches.

  6. Cover the dish with a lid or foil and bake for 1 hour, or until soft and fragrant.

  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Serving Suggestions

  • Enjoy warm for breakfast with porridge or mashed on toast instead of jam
